Our conference center plaza is the work of local master stone artist Jack Finke, who has also done the magnificent stone work at Festival Hill.
Our existing fountain is now enclosed in an arched grotto. The large stone blocks in the arch are Leuters stone, quarried near San Saba. If you look carefully, you can see that these blocks are "book matched" (corresponding blocks are both cut from the same stone)!
The back of the grotto around the fountain has a raised planter that is perfect for herbs!
Jack also built a second fountain. The water comes out of the wall, spills over a large stone, and into a catch pool. We have a pot of irises that enjoy the wet spot, and also a flat rock for butterflies to drink on.
Inside the wall, we have several "pocket" gardens. This one has colorful plants for butterflies.
We also have some wonderful patio furniture to relax in.
This beautiful copper "Wind Spiral" is the work of artist Ralph Moresco. You can see his work at Copper Shade Tree in Round Top.
Houston metal artist John Barber created this wonderful gate.
The gate contains the bottom of wine bottles suspended in forged rings.
